The illicit wildlife trade is all around us, and affects every single one of us, directly or indirectly. It is slowly but surely eroding the biodiversity of Earth, on which we all depend for survival.

WINE EVENING
Tuesday 14 September
The wines of Iona come from a dramatically unique site in the Cape Winelands. The vineyards are on a mountain plateau 420 m above sea level, surrounded by the Kogelberg Nature Reserve and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. In a country where cool sites are precious, these vineyards are like gold - the grapes ripening up to two months later than other Cape vineyards and in perfect balance. Iona is South Africa's coolest vineyard site.
Andrew Gunn and family acquired this beautiful, but run-down apple farm in 1997. It was renamed "Iona" after the remote island off the west coast of Scotland.
18:30 for 19:00, R170 per person includes dinner.

04 October
During the dry bushveld winters, the flowers of several Aloe species provide a valuable food source for the nectar-feeding birds of the region. Over three consecutive winters Joe Grosel and Derek Engelbrecht monitored a dense patch of Mountain Aloe (Aloe Marlothii) in the Northern Bushveld in order to determine the relationships between flowering Aloes and nectar feeding birds. They discovered far more than they had expected! This vibrant presentation with over 80 slides presents some of the findings of this study.

THE FUNCTIONING FORM CLASSES
By Thomas Witt (082-8821631) - Internationally qualified Pilates instructor (Body, Arts and Sciences U.S.A; Anjali Yoga trained in Bangalore, India; many years experience in the Martial arts and movie choreography)
Pilates classes: Often called the "thinking person's" workout, the Pilates Method emphasizes precisely controlled movements that strengthen the abdominal and shoulder girdle "core zones" which are crucial for good alignment and posture as well as aid balance and flexibility. Throughout the work a high level of concentration and body awareness is imperative, and this method should always be approached as a mind-body regimen.
TUESDAY 18H30-19H30
THURSDAY 17H30-18H30
Functioning Form class: A class that fuses Pilates, martial arts and yoga to form an eclectic workout that translates into functional movement. The cardiovascular benefits are superior to conventional "aerobic forms" because we move in all planes and mimic everyday movements which emphasize balance and proprioception. This class requires that you are injury free and have a basic level of fitness.
