The tall, imposing oak trees at The Country Club, Johannesburg, "those green-robed senators of mighty woods", stand as monuments to an establishment rooted in the heritage of Johannesburg, flourishing in the third millennium as a stalwart of elegance and good grace.

The Country Club Johannesburg is a club dedicated to assuring members, young and old, of a social abode that fosters friendship, good fellowship and social interaction, in an ambience of dignity and comfort.

The Woodmead property spreads across 236 hectares and includes 14 dams stocked with many fish varieties and forests inhabited by some 180 species of birds. The natural resources have been blended to create a harmonious balance between nature and the urban development surrounding the estate.

Woodmead is home to two superb golf courses: Woodmead and Rocklands, ranked 9 and 59 in South Africa respectively, and has received a five star rating for its overall golfing experience. The Woodmead course hosts the annual Telkom PGA tournament which forms part of South Africa's Sunshine Golf Circuit.

Woodmead is recognised among the most prestigious venues for corporate golf days.

The Country Club Johannesburg has been a home from home for members, their guests and reciprocal members since the Club's beginnings in early 1906
